On February 12th, 2016, we had the wonderful opportunity to coordinate and decorate for the event “A Night to Shine”. It was held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Weston, WI. As seen in the picture above, our role included: lighting (light pillars & uplighting), as well as chair covers and sashes.

For those of you that don’t know about “A Night to Shine”…
It is an event sponsored and created by the Tim Tebow foundation last year. The event is held in over 200 churches on the same night, across the United States and 7 other countries. They wanted to give adults with special needs a night where they can be treated as a King or a Queen, which is a really unique concept.

Basically, they show up ready for the event and receive the special treatment such as: hair & makeup touchups, shoe shining, as well as getting a flower for the event. The adults are then moved to an area where they get a crown or tiara, as they are all Kings and Queens that night. However, at this point, the night is just starting. They are then greeted by a limo that picks them up and drops them off at the red carpet entrance where they are greeted by paparazzi, taking pictures and cheering them on. Afterwards, the Kings and Queens are able to enjoy the rest of their prom night. For this particular event, there was a photo booth, karaoke, food reception, as well as the main dance floor pictured above.

It was truly a remarkable event and experience. There were over 300 volunteers, and 104 Kings and Queens, as well as 500+ members of the public who came out to support them that night.

Being a part of something like this is special. It’s an experience that we certainly will never forget and we were honored to have played such a big role in this event!
